The Last Pool is a multimedia art installation created for Sage Galati’s senior thesis at Binghamton University in 2025. Galati was rewarded High Honors from the Binghamton University cinema department for this piece.

The idea for this piece came after Galati’s father sold their family business. Since 1962, the Galati family built and maintained pools in the Hudson Valley. Started by Galati’s grandfather and then taken over by her father in the 90’s, Galati Pools and Spas was their livelihood. Galati worked in the store the minuet she turned 14 and left a couple years after the business was sold. Galati wanted to create one last “Galati pool” as a way to say goodbye and commemorate this huge part of her life. This piece features three generations of Galatis with Sage’s father and brother helping with the construction of the piece and Galati using photographs taken by her grandfather from the 60s and 70s as the projected images for the piece.
